FIELD TRIP TO BELMONT, NC

We had our "Fun Friday" on Thursday and we went to Belmont.  It is only 20 min outside of Charlotte and they have the cutest Main Street!

This was our FAVORITE shop - Jolie! It was the train depot back in the day.  To the left of the topiary was another door into the depot. They had 2 entrances, one for the "colored" and one for the whites. The train tracks are right beside this building and the train went by 3 times while we were shopping. It was a little disturbing!

This is the interior of Jolie....it is huge! and she has great boutique items!

Train, Train...take me on out of this town...

Cute alleyway with shops

Do you think there could be any relation to Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs?

I just thought this was funny...

This looked freshly painted on the side of  a building on Main Street

Loved the Mercantile Building. We actually bought some hardware items while we were there.  Notice how the "C" looks a little funny.  They placed it right over the hurricane star.  Not sure that is what you call them here in Belmont but that is what they are in Charleston SC!

Chrissi and I had lunch at The String Bean fresh market & deli.  We could not pass up a place with such a cute name! We both had delicious sandwiches with a side of sweet potato fries!  We didn't have any luck with junkin' but we had another fun outing and I am always looking forward to the next one!!
